Solution Application Architect – Role Overview

As a Solution Application Architect, you will lead the design, implementation, and support of Blue Yonder WMS solutions. You will act as the technical subject matter expert and guide teams through system architecture, configuration, integration, and deployment.

This role requires strong experience in supply chain processes, warehouse operations, and IT solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, implementation, and support of Blue Yonder WMS deployments
• Act as the WMS Subject Matter Expert (SME) for system architecture, configuration, and development
• Provide technical leadership for warehouse management and supply chain solutions
• Manage and support Blue Yonder WMS administration and business process validation
• Work as a project lead with developers to deliver system enhancements and customer requirements
• Oversee and contribute to SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) activities
• Participate in WMS application strategy and long-term technology planning
• Stay updated on new Blue Yonder versions, features, and industry trends
• Lead technical and functional training sessions for internal teams
• Work directly with clients to gather requirements and provide solution consultancy
• Conduct workshops, gap analysis, and solution design sessions
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and IT teams to align systems and processes

Must-Have Skills & Experience

Technical & Functional Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Blue Yonder WMS deployments
• Experience in Blue Yonder WMS administration and support
• SQL and MOCA – Mandatory
• Java – Optional (MOCA experience usually covers Java exposure)
• Strong understanding of Supply Chain Management, including:
  • Transportation
  • Warehousing
  • Contract logistics
  • Manufacturing / MRP
  • Reverse logistics
  • Supply chain planning
  • Procurement and sourcing
• Experience translating business needs into BRD and FBR documents
• Strong understanding of SDLC processes
• Experience with system integration and B2B messaging

Integration & Messaging Experience

• B2B protocols such as Axway XIB, Software AG, WebMethods
• EDI formats including IDOC, EDI X12, ANSI X12
• Experience with API, JSON, FTP integrations

Additional Preferred Skills

• Experience with Discrete WMS
• Dispatcher experience can be considered
• Exposure to 3PL operations is a plus
• Strong IT leadership and stakeholder management skills
