Description
This role requires a proactive individual who can manage and optimize VMware environments, ensuring high availability and performance of virtualized systems.
Responsibilities
- VMware Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and optimize the performance of virtual machines and VMware infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to VMware environments, including storage, network, and performance problems.
- Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions for virtual machines.
- Security Management: Ensure the security of the VMware environment by applying patches and updates, and managing access controls.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of the VMware environment, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaboration: Work with other IT teams to integrate VMware solutions with other systems and applications.
Skills

- Proficiency in VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Strong understanding of networking, storage, and server hardware.
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or KVM.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools like PowerShell or Python.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.
